I know I am not the fastest cyclists in the world but I just looked at the Old Freeway to Mt Lofy and there are times to good to be true.

1. 24mins 50secs - 06 Jan 2009: John MacArthur - ADMITS TO AN ERROR - PLEASE DELETE

2. 26mins 53secs - 13 Mar 2009: Ron Williams (Ronny) HAS NOT SUBMITTED ANY OTHER TIMES CLOSE TO THIS SORT OF TIME SO BELIEVE THIS IS AN ERROR

3. 27mins 0secs - 20 Jan 2009: Lorenzo Mascaro HAS NOT SUBMITTED ANY OTHER TIMES CLOSE TO THIS SORT OF TIME SO BELIEVE THIS IS AN ERROR

4. 30mins 19secs - 05 Apr 2007: SIMON THOMSON HAS NOT SUBMITTED ANY OTHER TIMES CLOSE TO THIS SORT OF TIME SO BELIEVE THIS IS AN ERROR

5. 30mins 38secs - 21 Jan 2009: Rob Searle Do not know and can not find any info on this rider so can not complain

6. 31mins 23secs - 13 Apr 2008: fraser S northey Do not know and can not find any info on this rider so can not complain

7. 32mins 46secs - 19 Jul 2005: Jeffrey Schulz - Me, I was fit at one stage, have times confirmed by other top riders.

8. 32mins 56secs - 01 Jul 2002: Brett Aitken Well, not much to say here. This time is real

9. 33mins 19secs - 23 Jan 2008: Reg Paterson A grade rider so not fake.

I apoligse if people are offended by me pointing this out. If you are, maybe you should see it as a compliment as the times are so good it is hard to believe.

Sometimes there is confusion about the beginning and start of the climbs that are listed. As far as I remember there is a climb from the tollgate to the bollards of the Old freeway and another from the tollgate to the Mt Lofty Summit. There has even been confusion about the route taken from Crafers to the summit whether it is the main road or up Shurdington Road. Other confusing climbs include the Veloway which is listed as O Halloran Hill which is mistaken for South Road up to the Victoria Hotel.
Sometimes I wish the climb routes (start/stop points)be better described and distance and incline be measured more accurately for example the original South Road climb to O Halloran Hill is some 700 metres too short. For that reason, ages ago I posted a new one called Outward Bound Darlington to the Victoria Hotel (afterall every good climb should end at a hotel I wish everybody "happy trails"

If Brett Aitken is doing 33 minutes, I highly doubt anyone will be close to or breaking 30 minutes. As for the 27 minutes and less, they were obviously towed along by a car.

I agree with Robert though, maybe they inadvertently chose different starting points. I find that people always question the times I put up, like my 23.58 up Norton Summit, but I swear that it was not fabricated.

Yep, 24 mins 50 secs...perhaps it is in fact John Contador? (kidding of course John MacArthur)

Agree with the confusion on some of the course names though.

Tell you what "The Cheez"...I would struggle getting the car up to lofty under 27 mins

Full marks Jeff, I agree.

You can not have a faster average speed to the summit, than to the bollards.

There must be a lot of unknown riders competing in the Herald Tour this year.
