With the latest news regarding Lance Armstrong will he race the Giro and can he win the Tour? I guess it depends on how bad things really are.

Hmmm, yeah maybe him and Stuey can hook up and become indoor training partners . I think most people would be surprised what sort of form a rider can maintain on an indoor trainer with specific training. It's pretty boring but if you're a full time pro then it's your job isn't it?

Given Lance's history to come back from the brink of tossing the game away, and doing a Lazarus, anything is possible with this man. He is definitely one of the most focused and goal orientated person anyone could meet - one mindedness to the extreme. Might not win this years TDF (or even finish) but his presence will be felt and he will upset a lot of riders in the peleton. (Dont claim to be an expert on this subject but summed up from what I have read about him - dont necessarily worship Lance but you have to respect his achievements - has had a huge influence in pro cycling is an understatement). Personally I favor Sean Kelly who could lay out an exciting sprint finish and was an awesome classics rider - would like him to one day autograph my Vitus edited by Robert Rau on 24/03/2009

Indoor training can help to maintain fitness, but IME we're always more cautious after an accident or injury. I imagine this would be a problem at the pro level, particularly when sprinting and descending.

He did comment that "I think the Giro is still very doable"...will wait and see, but still has plenty of time before TDF.
Did anyone catch the Contador interview, certainly wasn't the most heart-warming
As for the TDF, I agree with you Rob, if you are for or against Lance (for the record he is a bloody legend) just having him ride makes the race more exciting.
We like to see the attacks and with him in the mix with the likes of Contador, Basso, the Schleck lads etc there is bound to be some great viewing in July...none more so than on Ventoux. edited by Daniel Kelly on 25/03/2009 edited by Daniel Kelly on 25/03/2009
