Yep, got soaked. Only saw two other people riding. That rain hurts in the face :-)

I need to buy some wet weather gear I think!

Yep I've ridden 3 times over the last 3 days- and got absolutely soaked every time.

I've only ridden around the city though- it looks way too foggy and wet in the hills

Rode up the old freeway to Aldgate. Lots of debris on the road. Was going to ride the Aldgate 100 but got cancelled as it started to thunder and lightening. Hypothermia started to set in so sat in the Aldgate pub for a counter lunch in front of the fire.....

Hi Matthew, if I knew the Aldgate 100 was going to be cancelled I would have ridden with the Mega Bike crew - next weekend. Need to check with Noel when the 0730 start happens as we are now well into winter

Went out the back of Nairne for an hour and a half. Does anyone have a rain jacket that works? I think mine's only use is to be bright orange.

I have a ground effects Storm Trooper which I am really impressed with, but I only use it for commuting. Its got zip up vents under the sleeves to stop overheating, and a hood which is actually brilliant. The hood fits under your helmet and keeps the rain out of the back of your neck. Its also bright orange. Breathability is ok, but like most coats, if you rode hard in it for 3 hours you would be as wet from sweat as you would be from rain. Just warmer and saltier

My advice on weekends like this is to buy a MTB and hit the mud... if you're gonna get wet, you might as well enjoy it, and repairs to MTBs ain't anywhere near the cost of wear and tear to your Dura-ace or Record groupset... and mudflaps and wet weather gear can still look cool on a MTB.

i got home last night at 10pm and grabbed some gloves and headed up to corkscrew in the rain. did 10 laps up and down. following cycle2max protocol of course

on the last lap i left my lights and clothing at the top and did a naked run. i had to sprint up fast to stay away from hypothermia.

so my tip is dont let the rain and cold stop you. they say no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices..

ive got the SA 24hr solo xc next weekend so that explains my training methodology

youd be happy jason, i rode my dual suspension mountain bike.

Did the Mountain Bike thing today at Cudlee Creek Forest to prepare for next weekends 24hour 'dirty weekend'. Hasn't been used in a long time but good fun. Looking forward to oit. Got all rugged up after yesterdays soaking but it was beautiful conditions for riding.

10 times up and down Corkscrew is some pretty impressive training :-)

Rode Corkscrew first time with CK on Saturday morning. The call made by CK was "light shower only". We both got drenched! Turned right at the top of Corkscrew to go home via Montacute. Pretty hairy on some of the down hill. Winds were significant on the down hill and plenty of debris over the road. Not the most enjoyable ride but a good experience none the less. My feet thored out a couple of hours later - as CK suggests - some wet weather gear for both in order!!

Sunday, after a terribly wet and wild night, resorted to a RPM class at the gym!

hey ppl. (new to the website/ and road riding)

im from adelaide, moving to london in a couple months and thought this weekend would be a good test to see if i could handle the weather conditions i might have to put up with in england. so pushed out 90kms through the burbs on sat morning.
That wind was intense at times, couldnt wait to be riding home to make the wind all worth it.
Was riding around outter harbour loop and on the east side there was hell flooding. i was laughing my ass off wondering what the hell i was doing out at this time. But had a great time non the less.

Bought a rain jacket today though

On Saturday I rode up to Aldgate with the intention of riding the Aldgate 100 in the rain wearring only shorts and a short sleeved top. The Tour D Adelaide guys can verify what I was wearing amd noticeably starting to get very cold. Warming up in the Aldgate pub was a far better idea

Nice work Harley... that's a mental image I don't need. Would have been fresh on the descent?

last Saturday was a chilly one... the weather plummeted to 7C and only just got to 24C. Brrr, can't stand the winter in the tropics, might have to head back to PNG where it is warmer!
