Hey there Matthew. Yes, the 705 comes with Cadence as well. It has all the same features as the 305 except a colour screen, full base map which means you can use it as a fully functioning GPS and you can do some wireless transfer stuff with other 705's. It's also slightly bigger and heavier.
I bought the 305 with HR and cadence from Wiggle.co.uk as they were the cheapest place I could find. I didn't get the 705 as I didn't need the colour screen or the GPS functionality and saved about 150 bucks.

I've got the 305 and even though I would like the 705, it does everything I need. I would imagine a world of price difference at the moment, depends on what you will use it for. The 305 does everything I want except Watts. Has been great and very reliable. I bought the bike mount recently which has been good.

I have a 705 with the cadence. I use SportsTracks software to analyse the ride. Remarkable combination. You can buy the Garmin cheaper in Aust than the Wiggle price. PM if you want the detail. I previously used a Polar S725.
You will need to factor in the maps as well.
Any specific questions you had of the operation of the 705? Ask away!

Hey Philip, I bought the 305 with HR and Cadence from Wiggle for $430 Australian with free delivery. Where can you get it cheaper in Australia than that?
Although I notice it's now $456 Australian from Wiggle.....I must have bought at a good time!

I think the aussie RRP is $460 from what I have seen, some shops have it advertised for $455. A local BS shop sells them and I could probably get at least 10% off the RRP, so I guess around $410. But even if it costs $20 more, I think I like the fact if it breaks I can take it back to the shop. If I buy it overseas I have to wait a month as I would need to send it back overseas. I got a bike lock overseas and it broke, I sent it back and they sent me a new one. It took 2 months to get the replacement.

I was referring to the 705. Unlike Polar I think you will find Garmin doesn't have two types of warranties, just one warranty for everywhere. I checked this morning and the Australian supplier quoted $550 delivered for a Garmin 705 with speed and cadence. Colour display and map facility makes this an easy decision.
And use SportsTracks software to analyse the data. This gives you everything and the plugins also allow for calculated power output chart for your ride. Go here then select Power Analysis from the left column, then Manual from the top horizontal options to see some of the displays.

Jeffrey, I think you might find that price is for the unit without the cadence, just HR. I couldn't find it in Australia for less than $499.
Unless the price has dropped since I bought it which is quite possible...it is an old model now.

to avoid confusion might be useful if the full description is given ie model and features HR/Speed/Cadence/maps

Ryda have a Garmin Edge 305 GPS Heart Rate Monitor & Cadence for $459.95 plus $15.75 postage (so under $499)
the 705 with speed and cadence is $559.95 plus $15.75.

Wiggle didn't seem to have this combo unless it is with the Euro maps
PBK have it for $551.97 plus postage
Ribble is uncompetitive on this one
So the price I was suggesting of $550 delivered for a 705 with HR/Speed?Cadence looks good (NOT RYDA)

I got the Garmin Edge 305 GPS with Heart Rate Monitor & Cadence for $430 delivered. Still cheaper than $459 plus $15.75 delivery.
When I was looking for mine I found Ryda to be the cheapest place I could find it in Australia and at the time that was about $495 including the postage.
At that time the 705 version with Heart Rate Monitor and Cadence was around the $600 mark.
Note the Cadence unit is also the speed unit so there's not an extra feature or accessory where they stipulate it comes with speed. It's all combined.

I've had mine for about 2.5 months now and love it. All the data is viewable on the software that comes bundled with the unit. You can upload the information to the internet and share it with other people. I find the elevation data and cadence information quite useful whilst riding. The units are highly configurable so you can display as much or as little information as you like on the screen within set limits but the more information on the screen at once, the smaller the fields so it becomes harder to read whilst riding without taking your eyes off the road for too long.

You won't regret the purchase though.
