I will stick my neck out here and suggest he wont win his eighth Tour de France in 2009. Tours arent won on nostalgia of past glory. He will have to work extremely hard to overcome the depth of talent which is around at the moment. 2009 will be a very interesting "open" tour providing the drug scandals of the past dont rear their ugly head! Another question should be asked is will Cadel come second again?

Hmm I'd say he might win it again given that he is so mentally strong, has the best team again and also the fact that he rides clean (he has so much to lose if he did take drugs and it would almost ruin the sport if the man tested positive) And the drug testing is so much better now. A cleaner sport will always benefit clean riders like Stuey, Cadel and Lance. His endurance level will be just as good or even better than 3 years ago. I think Cadel will be top 5 at best given Contador and Lance are back.

I think he has more of a chance than Cadel of winning. There are not enough time trials in the race for cadel to make up time on the Mountain Climbers. I hope Cadel will win but I couldn't bet on him. Still I would not bet on Armstrong as Contador would be upset if Armstrong was to go for the Tour Win. I hope Armstrong wins the Giro.

I thought it was a comeback based around cancer awareness but that he wasnt really going for any wins? I more than hope im wrong as I would love to see him in the 2009 tour seriously challenging for yellow. Everyone has to agree he is one of the more exciting riders to watch. Im a huge Ulrich fan but he just kept a huge tempo and never attacked Lance is an absolute weapon and ya never know when he is gunna explode off.
Remember the year he came off when his bars clipped some kids hat while on an epic climb? The group slowed up and waited he got on, caught up, and thought stuff this now im going for it and attacked almost as soon as he caught upto em... thats unbelievable!

hopefully we all get a chance to meet him in January at TDU
