weighs just under 10kg.
rides so smooth. best material ive riden for endurance riding.
if i damage it, i can compost it.
only one in australia ensures plenty of conversation material.. 
im riding it around thailand at the moment. the thai's love it. bicycle is a universal language and a bamboo bicycle gets the smiles.

I smoked a bamboo pipe once...smoking isnt very healthy for you You are right, lots of uses for bamboo. Saw a set of wooden rims on ebay once which would have been nice on that bamboo bike. Im very conservative, still ride an old aluminium Vitus (1991 vintage), Im sure Greg Lemond and Sean Kelly wouldnt mind a ride on it as 99 percent original.

I have found that weigh is not an absolute factor for a good rideable bike. Frame geometry and stiffness and even wheelset with near frictionless bearings are a few ohter varibles which even the old timers understood well. Nothing new under the sun! Still riding my old Vitus on long rides because it is comfortable. Also ride a Giant TCR which climbs great but is really slow at descending (very sad really - especially when I can descend on a Vitus 15km/hr faster.)

Can we see a picture please Harley? My grandad used to ride on the track on bamboo (or some kind of timber) rims. I can recall seeing them when I was a young lad.
