Post ride / race smoothie:

iced coffee milk
honey
raw egg
banana

This is not good. This is perfect. Perfect blend of protein :: carbs (1:3) with some caffeine for increased carbohydrate absorption.

Plus it's delicious ;-)

fruit is my choice. per calorie, no other food meets human nutritional requirements better.

sweet, ripe, organic, fresh fruit is numero uno!

i do 500km solo training rides on the stuff! and the secret is like any carb food, EAT ENOUGH SO YOU CAN KEEP ON POWER'N THRU YOUR DAY.

10g of carbs per kg is a good starting point, so if peeps weigh 70kg that 70 x10 = 700g. thats like 30 large bananas or a loaf of dark bread with jam per day. eat that the day before and 100km rides feel like commutes.
