Anyone else going to waste what looks like a perfect morning (weather wise) for cycling by doing the City to Bay Fun Run on Sunday?

Think I will walk elsewhere and avoid the crowd..........nothing wrong with walking if the bike is prone to flat tyres

I entered it. Trained for it for the past 12 weeks, so gave the hill climbing a miss. In hindsight, I'm not sure why I bothered - I ended up with a pretty dismal 12km run time anyway. Better get the bike serviced and get back on the saddle.

I did the 12km too, my time wasn't anything spectacular either but it was about what I was aiming for so it's good enough for me.. I started running for something else to do during winter when I never get out on the bike as much due to time/weather.. Hopefully the extra/different fitness will help a bit with cycling also... I don't think running helps your legs much for cycling but I've noticed my heart rate when running is similar to when riding up a long hill.. Might be my imagination but the last few times I have ridden in the hills I've felt pretty good on longer climbs etc, when I expected to suffer due to not much riding lately...
