What a crap winter I'm having. Just got knocked off the bike for the third time, just happened- this morning on the way to work. At this rate I'm not going to get fit for summer. This time my hip copped it, can't walk.
Why am I telling you this? frustration, need to let it out, you guys will understand...I don't know...
Going to have a rest now..

Thanks Daniel
I was T-boned on the corner of Robe Tce & Medindie Rd Nth Adel. The dude was on Medindie approaching Robe, just didn't see me, and continuing to turn left into robe. I had no chance, barely manage to squeeze the brake lever when it was all over.. Luckily, I didn't get thrown into traffic, somehow landed back in the bicycle lane. Hit the road with my right hip (as you do!), it's sore as hell..
I reckon it's skin and bruises, Recovery will take all least a month, damn it, I just starting to feel strong again.. Hopefully I can get back sooner.

I really hope it's just me copping a few, I sincerely hope you guys are doing a hell of a lot better!

Many motorists just cant seem to judge distances and speed of cyclists very well, especially if a cyclist is travelling over 30 km/hr. Im usually very reluntant to put the hammer down in city traffic because I dont feel safe when motorists brains need to process lots of moving objects around them....unfortunately it seems the poor old cyclist is the last object to be recognised, just like our distant cousins those temporary citizens (motor cyclists). Yep its a jungle out there...stay safe everyone

Hope it doesn't come in 3's because I've been hit twice in the last 3 months... cyclists seem to be the last thing on people's minds especially at night and especially when travelling fast. Hope you feel better soon - have rest, keep it warm, get some physio.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I'm recovering much better than I thought. No broken bones, skin loss, bruises and sprains, lucky....
Yep, I need some physio...

Sorry to hear about your bad luck Dan, hope you have been able to recover well.
It sucks that we can't do anything about it, road rules & regulations favour the motorist, very little is done to protect the cyclists & pedestrians...

I know no-one wants to jinx themselves, but if you're interested in knowing the treatment for open wounds, read on....

The nurses at the RAH triage were brilliant, first class! They gave me a healing patch called "Duoderm CGF" and its like no other.
Apart from speeding up the healing process, it's non stick to the wound, but sticks well to the surrounding skin & it's waterproof - you can shower! But the real beauty is no more scrubbing brush, the gravel comes out with the patch. If that's not enough, the patch can be applied immediately after a fall.
I'll be getting some for the first aid kit, in-case you're wondering, can get them at McNiels Surgical on Magill rd.

Take care
